GARY WEHRKAMP
Gary Wehrkamp is a long time friend of the band Dreamtone and when Iris Mavraki & Dreamtone decided to form a new band and asked him for his guest appearance, he happily accepted it. Gary is a multi-instrumentalist, who was also a guest on Dreamtone’s Sojourn (2006) album, played a beautiful guitar solo on the track “Mountain of Joy”.
- Could you describe the beauty of music, the beauty it reflects in your very own mind?
There are two categories here: Listening and Creating. I often get inspired by silence, especially if there is a piano near, and once I lock into a mode of improvising, I lose myself, and that is a beautiful thing.
- What was the thing that you liked most about "Reversing Time"?
The combination of the power of a rock band with the grace and execution of the orchestra.
- You were also a guest on Dreamtone's Sojourn album. How is it to work on this new project again? Do you plan to work together on new projects in the future as well?
Familiar. Oganalp and the guys are a great bunch. I am open to see what they come up with next.
- If you were playing your very own tunes with a symphony orchestra to accompany you, what would be the theme of the song that you play, and how would it sound?
Theme? it would have many themes, and they would overlap and change and twist and turn... I would hope it would be all that is fun, and emotional in music.
- "Neverland" is a world of fantasy, where children don't grow up and where good and happy endings are numerous. How can you describe your own Neverland?
My daily life is exactly that. We grow, but we do not grow up and lose the innocence of art and optimism.
